Covid-19: Only one local infection over past 24 hours

CORONAVIRUS | The country reported one local infection case of Covid-19 and six imported cases over the past 24 hours, according to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The local infection case is in Negeri Sembilan involving a Malaysian who has a history of working in Indonesia and had returned to the country on May 7.

The individual was asymptomatic and was only detected after being screened for work.

Noor Hisham in his statement also announced 47 recoveries today.

The total number of active cases are now down to 170 cases.

No new deaths were reported and the number of people in intensive care remains at two.

On the Sivagangga cluster, he said 4,198 people have been tested of which 43 are positive and 3,235 negative. The remaining 920 others are awaiting their test results.

Active case detection for the cluster is still ongoing, said Dr Noor Hisham.
