Covid-19: More than 5,000 total recoveries, 67 new infections

CORONAVIRUS | The number of Covid-19 recoveries has reached 5,025 or 75.5 percent, with 96 new recoveries recorded today.

Meanwhile, there are 67 new infections as of noon today, of which 49 were migrants.

This brings total infections to 6,566.

One Malaysian was infected in the enhanced movement control order (MCO) area surrounding the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market.

The cluster in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan also saw an increase of 43 cases, bringing the total to 131. 122 of those cases were migrants.

Meanwhile, the Chow Kit market cluster recorded 5 new infections.

There were no new infections among the other active clusters or enhanced MCO areas.

Of the active cases, 18 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), of which 6 require ventilators.

Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said no deaths were reported, with the death toll remaining at 108.

He assured that the contact tracing for active cases was being carried out diligently.

Meanwhile, mass testing in enhanced MCO areas, he added, will be carried out regardless of nationality.
