Covid-19: 30 new cases, none imported, 1 death
CORONAVIRUS | Malaysia recorded 30 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 6,383, according to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
None of the new cases was imported. Of the 30 new cases, 24 cases involved non-citizens.
Of the new cases, 21 were detected in existing clusters or enhanced movement control order (MCO) areas. Noor Hisham did not specify which.
There is only a handful of enhanced MCO areas left, mostly located within the vicinity of the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market in northern Kuala Lumpur and parts of Gombak Selangor.
Noor Hisham announced that 83 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of discharged patients to 4,567 (71.55 percent recovery rate).
So far, there are 1,710 active cases.
Of this figure, 24 patients required intensive care and eight of which are on a ventilator.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham announced that Malaysia has recorded its 106th death related to Covid-19.
The Malaysian male, 47, known as Patient 830, was admitted on March 15 and passed away at 2.10am at the Sungai Buloh hospital this morning.
