Blood donors wanted, exempted from MCO

The government has urged blood donors to step forward as the National Blood Bank's supply has reduced by 33 percent since the start of the movement control order (MCO).

Senior Minister (security cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the special cabinet meeting today decided that legitimate blood donors are exempted from the MCO.

"It has been decided that blood donors can donate blood at hospitals and public health clinics from 10am to 10pm (during the MCO period)," said Ismail during his daily press briefing today.

According to the National Blood Bank website, donors are encouraged to either carry their donor card or appointment slip.

The appointment slip can be obtained here.
