Two-thirds recovery mark draws near, less than 2,000 in treatment
CORONAVIRUS | Malaysia is inching its way nearer to the two-thirds mark in terms of the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered.
According to the Health Ministry, 103 patients were discharged over the 24-hour period ending noon today, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 3,452 (62.4 percent of total cases).
The total number of active cases continues its downward trajectory with 1,987, down from a peak of 2,595 on April 5.
As of noon today, there were 50 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 positive patients to 5,532.
Forty-three patients are currently under intensive care of which 25 require a ventilator.
There was one new death (93rd death) recorded, involving Patient 5,483.
The victim is a Malaysian female, 72, who had a history of illnesses. She was warded at the Sarawak general hospital on April 20 and passed away at 9.15am this morning.
