MCO: 'Datuk' detained at roadblock, vehicle theft tools seized

Police have detained two men including one with a "Datuk" title and seized various items including an air pistol during a roadblock at the Jawi Toll Plaza near Nibong Tebal, Penang, yesterday.

The police, who were conducting checks at the roadblock mounted in conjunction with the movement control order (MCO), stopped a luxury vehicle at about 2am after the duo were behaving suspiciously.

They also failed to provide a valid reason for flouting the MCO, according to a source.

Checks on the vehicle, which used fake registration numbers, also unveiled various tools believed to be used for stealing cars.

Penang police chief Sahabudin Abd Manan, when contacted, confirmed the arrest, saying the probe into the matter was ongoing. – Bernama
