Health DG: MCO is working, trajectory on target
CORONAVIRUS | The movement control order is showing signs of success, said Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said according to the ministry's trajectory, there will be 2,033 active cases by April 14, the end of phase two of the order.
"This shows signs that MCO phase one and two are successful in reducing the infectiousness of Covid-19 in the community," he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.
At present, there are 2,462 active cases. Recoveries have been in the triple digits since Wednesday, and had up to yesterday been exceeding new infections.
Noor Hisham said the public must continue to cooperate with the government by staying at home, observing social distancing, and maintaining good hygiene.
The MCO which was implemented on March 18, has been extended until April 28.
