'E-bazar Ramadan Selangor Grab' to help traders generate income
The Selangor state government has established ‘E-Bazar Ramadan Selangor Grab’, an online platform to help small traders generate income during Ramadan following the cancellation of Ramadan bazaar in the state.
Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the initiative, in collaboration with Grab Malaysia, will enable people to buy food for breaking fasts online.
“The cancellation of the Ramadan bazaar this year will affect some 17,000 small traders and hawkers. Therefore, the state government has come up with this new entrepreneurial ecosystem to help them generate income during Ramadan,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He added that under the concept, purchases to be done via Grab application.
Amirudin said the state government has identified 15 locations as central kitchens for the project, to be carried out by the Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated and Hijrah Selangor.
“We hope the initiative will benefit all parties,” he added.
