CORONAVIRUS | Another China national tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Kuala Lumpur today, raising the number of reported cases in Malaysia to 19.

The Health Ministry in a statement said the 39-year-old woman is a friend of the 14th reported case, a 37-year-old tourist from Wuhan, China.

She is also the daughter of the 16th reported case, a 67-year-old tourist from Wuhan.

According to the Health Ministry, all three of them, plus two others, had arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 25.

The patient was placed under a surveillance order since the 14th and 16th case were tested positive on Feb 5 and Feb 7 respectively.

"The outcome of ongoing monitoring by the district health office found that she began to show signs of fever and cough on Feb 12.

"She was referred to HKL and later the same day tested positive for Covid-19," said the ministry, adding that the patient is placed in isolation and in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry also said it has deployed a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support team since Feb 6, targeting various officers involved in the special mission to bring back Malaysians living in Wuhan.

It was revealed that two cases were treated for acute stress and anxiety following the success of the mission.
