Viral video of police allegedly taking bribe is from 2016
A viralled video allegedly showing a policeman accepting bribe to allow Indonesian immigrants to enter the country illegally through Tawau, Sabah, is actually an old one that had been viralled four years ago.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani (above) said it had been investigated by the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) and appropriate action had been taken.
Investigation showed there was no clear evidence that could link the policeman to the bribery, he said in a statement here today.
However, Acryl Sani said, as a preventive measure, two policemen, including a senior officer, were transferred at short notice.
