Putrajaya disagrees with Washington's suggestion to host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in the US in January. Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had called him recently to ask about the suggestion to host the summit early next year.
