Harapan women's wing objects to 'unmitigated disaster' claim
Pakatan Harapan women's wing has objected to claims by academic Lim Teck Ghee describing Malaysia's reform agenda under Pakatan Harapan as an "unmitigated disaster".
The wing's leader Zuraida Kamaruddin said Lim's prognosis did not take into account that the new federal government was only 17 months old.
"(Lim) must take into account the destruction caused by the previous administration. It is wrong for a public policy analyst to make sweeping claims without a proper study.
"His views are not valid," said Zuraida in a statement this evening.
Zuraida was referring to Lim's comment during the "Whither Maruah Malaysia 2.0" forum in Kuala Lumpur today where he listed out Harapan's reform "disappointments".
"For now, it is clear post-GE14 has been a disaster, it is been an unmitigated disaster for reform from whichever aspect or way you look at," he had said.
"Education, governance, race relations, religious relations, the debacles of Icerd, Zakir Naik, the Melayu Dignity Congress and more. The list of political disappointments and failures keeps growing."
He also accused Harapan of formulating policies associated with the ketuanan Melayu and ketuanan Islam doctrines which are propagated by Umno and PAS respectively.
