Penang hikes assessment rates between 40 to 90 pct, Gerakan cries foul

The Penang government today announced a substantial increase in assessment rates - ranging from 40 to 90 percent - for properties on the island and mainland.

Penang executive councillor for local government and housing Jagdeep Singh Deo said the last review was in 2005, 15 years ago.
