Guan Eng wants another review on khat, and 8 news from yesterday

1. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said he will seek another review of the khat issue in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

2. Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad branded Chinese educationist group Dong Zong as "racist" for claiming the introduction of khat lessons for Standard 4 pupils was an attempt at Islamisation.

3. Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh said Mahathir's labelling of Dong Zong as racist will complicate any efforts to reach a compromise.

4. Mahathir also took a sarcastic swipe at critics who questioned his position on several issues such as Lynas and khat which are unpopular with Pakatan Harapan's core supporters.
