Cops: We did not barge into Haziq's house

The Kuching district police clarified that they did not force their way into Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz's house.

In a statement today, the police said that they had let themselves into the compound through an unlocked gate.

The police said Haziq's father and his cousin eventually answered the door and allowed the police to inspect the house. The police described the occupants as cooperative.

The said that they looked for Haziq (above) in the house and recorded the father's statement.

The police said that they had let themselves into the compound after spending several minutes calling out to the occupants.

The five-member team had reasons to believe that there were occupants at the house because of parked vehicles within the compound.

Haziq has been sought by the police following the spread of several video clips depicting him and, purportedly, PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Azmin has denied being the man in the video clip.

Following the spread of the initial video clips, Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam lodged a police report and called for a probe on the "performers".

Haziq, too, has lodged a police report and claimed on his Facebook page that he was indeed depicted in the video clip.

However, his father claimed that Haziq was not the person in the contentious video clips.

Haziq was arrested at about 2 pm today at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
