Don't sweep 'dedak cartel' under the carpet, PAS warned

PAS member Zaharudin Muhammad said today that he welcomes the party’s move to impose a gag order on the "dedak cartel" issue and bring the matter before a disciplinary committee.

However, Zaharudin – the son-in-law of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang – warned against any attempt to sweep the matter “under the carpet.”

Alhamdulillah … At least the case will be brought before the disciplinary committee. Hopefully, this will be resolved behind closed doors.

“If there are attempts to hide it under the carpet, God willing, I will fight," he said in a Facebook post, which includes a copy of the gag order.

PAS today barred its members from discussing party matters to the media and social media platforms.

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan reminded members that any view, opinion, suggestion, or criticism must be relayed through official channels.

The order is effective immediately.

Previously, Zaharudin alleged that five party members were members of a "dedak cartel" that received money from Umno.

He claimed that his exposé was sanctioned by his father-in-law, but Hadi yesterday denied giving his blessing.
