After Dr M's royal swipe, Kadir asks IGP to 'reopen probe'

The conflict between Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the Johor palace is showing no signs of abating.

In a Facebook posting this evening, his communication and media advisor A Kadir Jasin waded into the issue again, hours after his boss' excoriation of Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

Although he did not mention names, it was obvious his target was Tunku Ismail since he referred to the latter's earlier remarks and Mahathir's description of the prince as a “little boy.”

Kadir requested the new Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador to “reopen the IP (investigation papers) which were frozen or closed.”

However, the veteran newsman did not elaborate.

He also asked the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to check how much in taxes has Mados Sdn Bhd paid after being in business for “hundreds of years.”

Mados Sdn Bhd belongs to the Johor royal family. According to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), the nature of business is stated as property investment, provision of management services, timber logging and quarry operation.

Meanwhile, Kadir also turned the clock back to the Second World War with regard to the US atomic bomb, whose codename was “Little Boy.”

“'Little boy' is like the atomic bomb which flattened Hiroshima in 1945. It is extremely dangerous although it is small and does not know anything.

“So we have to do something. Just talking is not enough.

“Furthermore, the little boy welcomed us to do 110 percent. There is no need for 110 percent, 50 percent is sufficient,” he added.

On Saturday, Tunku Ismail (above) alluded to a purported plot by one Kadir to "finish off" the royalty.

"Kadir, I know about the meeting in Menara Ilham. Please proceed.

"But like I said before, if you want to finish us, you must finish us completely. You can't do it halfway or 50 percent. You must go all out 110 percent," he tweeted.

While he did not clearly spell out who "Kadir" was, this is believed to be in reference to Mahathir's media advisor.

Menara Ilham is where fellow Mahathir strongman Daim Zainuddin is based.

During a special media interview this afternoon, Mahathir also dismissed Tunku Ismail as “stupid” and urged him not to speak on matters beyond his knowledge.
