PAS endorses PBS candidate for Sandakan
SANDAKAN POLLS | PAS has endorsed Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) candidate Linda Tsen for the Sandakan by-election.
In a statement today, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan urged Sabah divisions to campaign and vote for Tsen.
"This measure was taken to strengthen the opposition bloc, which will play a check and balance role in Parliament.
"This is for the good of the country and its people," he said.
PAS' latest ally Umno has yet to state the same.
Umno had stated that it would support BN component parties in Sabah, but there are none left officially.
Prior to exiting the coalition after last year's general election, PBS also spent the years between 1990 and 2002 outside the coalition.
In the May 11 polls, Tsen will take on Pakatan Harapan candidate Vivian Wong and independent candidates, namely Hamzah Abdullah, Chia Siew Yong and Sulaiman Abdul Samad.
