Recycling tops agenda of indie candidate for Rantau
Independent candidate for the Rantau by-election R Malar wants the constituency to be a beacon of recycling for the country.
“We must have leaders who are on the right track where recycling is concerned,” Malar, who was a radio presenter in Toronto, told reporters after launching her manifesto themed 'Focus Rantau' today.
Apart from recycling, the other areas she pledges to focus on if elected are pushing for low-cost accommodation, a people-friendly transportation system, and flood mitigation.
Malar is up against Dr S Streram of Pakatan Harapan, former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Mohamad Hasan of BN, and another independent Mohd Nor Yassin.
Polling is on April 13, with early voting taking place four days earlier.
