Search on for M’sian teen missing after Christchurch attack
A Malaysian teenager remains missing after yesterday’s mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand, with search efforts still ongoing.
Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah confirmed this today, adding that the three Malaysians injured in the shooting are receiving treatment for their wounds.
“As of 3pm today, it is confirmed that three Malaysians are injured in the shooting incident targeting two mosques in Christchurch yesterday. All of them are currently being treated at the hospital.
“One Malaysian is still missing and the effort to locate the person is ongoing,” he said in a statement.

The missing Malaysian is 17-year-old Mohd Haziq Mohd Tarmizi, according to Bernama.
Mohd Haziq’s father Mohd Tarmizi Shuib, 46 (from Kedah), Rahimi Ahmad, 39 (from Penang) and Mohd Nazril Hisham Omar, 46 (from Kelantan), are the three injured Malaysians.
“I have been told that all three are in stable condition and have undergone surgery to remove bullets, and for their wounds,” Saifuddin was quoted as saying.
Forty nine people, including women and children, died after a lone shooter targeted two mosques. New Zealand police say that 39 people remain in hospital.
The main suspect of the shootings, 28-year-old Australian citizen Brenton Harrison Tarrant, was charged with murder in Christchurch today.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has labelled the shooting as a terrorist attack.
