Mat Hasan pushes for Umno-PAS unity gov'ts in four states
Umno wants to form coalition governments with PAS in four opposition states, said Umno acting president Mohamad Hasan.
Umno governs Pahang and Perlis, while PAS holds Terengganu and Kelantan.
Mohamad said these administrations would be dubbed as "united ummah (community) governments."
He said the matter was raised during a technical committee meeting between the two parties recently, and is currently being discussed.
"I discussed with PAS the other day, if possible we should start with a coalition government known as the united ummah governments in Terengganu, Pahang, Kelantan, and Perlis.
"Meanwhile, in Perak and Kedah where there is only a narrow difference between BN-PAS seats and Pakatan Harapan, we will 'shake' them (Harapan) so that they feel uneasy," Mohamad was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
He said this at a meeting with Malacca Umno leaders in Sungai Rambai.
Umno and PAS formalised their union on Tuesday, with an agenda to unite the ummah.
The two parties working together, had staved off Harapan in the Cameron Highlands by-election in January and reclaimed the Semenyih state seat last week.
