Anwar declares RM10.75m worth of assets to MACC
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has declared assets worth RM10.75 million to the MACC.
His private secretary Shukri Saad, in a statement today, listed the details of the assets the Port Dickson MP had declared.
"These include his current house in Bukit Segambut, estimated to be worth RM9.5 million which he bought for RM4.5 million from the proceeds of the sales of another house in Bukit Damansara in 2005.
"He also declared a plot of land in Permatang Habib, Mukim Penor, Kuantan, Pahang which he bought in 1974 for RM7,000. The land is currently estimated to be worth RM420,000," said Shukri.
His other assets declared are in the form of investment and savings accounts worth RM828,658.83, said Shukri.
All factored in, Anwar's assets amount to RM10,748,658.83, he added.
In December last year, Anwar had said that he had three months from Oct 15 - the date of his swearing in as an MP - to declare his assets.
According to the declaration list, which can be viewed here, Segamat MP Edmund R Santhara Kumar (above) is currently the wealthiest MP with him and his wife declaring cumulative assets worth RM132,115,000.
He displaced Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham who previously topped the list at RM77,011,990.00.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has declared assets worth RM32,357,900.00.
According to the portal, 121 or 93.8 percent of MPs have declared their assets while 76 administrative members (88.4 percent) have followed suit.
