Malaysiakini removes article quoting FB posting of KTMB chairperson's wife
Malaysiakini has removed the article quoting KTMB chairperson Rameli Musa's wife Norlella Md Akram's Facebook posting.
This is following a law firm representing her informing Malaysiakini that the posting was private and not intended for public consumption.
The posting has gone viral on social media.
Rameli was yesterday questioned by the MACC, after he is believed to have paid RM1.4 million to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown on behalf of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
The payment, according to Rewcastle-Brown, was part of their settlement following Hadi's decision to withdraw a defamation suit against her.
The MACC has frozen a number of assets, bank accounts and cars belonging to PAS leaders as part of investigations into the party’s source of funding.
Hadi had sued Rewcastle-Brown for publishing an article on Sarawak Report which, among others, suggested that PAS was paid RM90 million by Umno several years ago.
The PAS president has not explained why the suit was withdrawn, or whether the settlement meant that he now accepted Rewcastle-Brown's claim.
