LETTER | Time to close ranks behind Selangor govt

LETTER | The Selangor state executive council, comprised of 10 members of the Pakatan Harapan-BN alliance, has been sworn in and I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our dedicated Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and all the exco for their new and renewed roles.

I am fully confident of their commitment to our state’s progress and of their ability to steer Selangor toward continued growth and unity.

The recent seat allocation for the exco positions has given rise to feelings of anticipation, surprise, and for some, disappointment.

While my name was among those initially considered for the executive council, the final decision has gone in a different direction. Such is the nature of coalition politics, where collective decisions are made for the broader interests of the state and its people.

It is vital now, more than ever, that we embrace this outcome with grace and resolve.

I call upon all members of PKR, supporters, and the broader community of Selangor to look toward the future with optimism and unity. We must not let debates over seat allocation overshadow the larger mission of Harapan-BN.

Our coalition was forged in the spirit of cooperation, inclusivity, and shared goals. We must remind ourselves of this, especially in moments of disagreement or uncertainty.

I urge every party member and supporter to respect the decision made by the leadership. Let us channel our energy toward understanding, reconciliation, and collaborative effort. This is not a time for division but an opportunity for unity within Harapan.

While recognition through position is important in politics, we must remember that it is our duty to serve that is more important.

Whether I am appointed to a role or not, my commitment to the people of Selangor remains strong. With or without a position, I will do my utmost for the people and my dedication to our state's progress and the welfare of its people will continue.

As we move forward, I hope we can shift our focus to serving the people of Selangor and ensuring that our state continues to thrive.

I believe our menteri besar will also pay much-needed attention to the aspirations of the Indian community in the state and come up with various initiatives.

At the same time, I am also looking forward to working together with newly appointed exco V Papparaidu in resolving various issues within the Indian community in Selangor.

Thank you and let us all be driven by the spirit of service, unity, and progress.
