LETTER | What happened to the 12th Malaysia Plan?
LETTER | The 1st Malaysia Plan was established in 1956. The purpose of the Malaysia Plans was to solicit parliamentary proposals for the country's national planning for the next five years.
Due to the closure of Parliament, the 12th Malaysia Plan has been delayed and it seems like this national plan is already forgotten.
I support our Yang di-Pertuan Agong in re-opening Parliament at the very soonest.
One thing I want to highlight is that the country needs a long-term plan. The 12th Malaysia Plan must be tabled in Parliament immediately without anymore further delay.
This will the rakyat more understanding of the government's direction and policies in the next five years. This will ensure we have a long-term policy to boost investors' confidence and improve Malaysia's financial ratings.
Right now, Malaysia seems to be in a dark situation without any direction for a long-term economic governance policy. Many industries are badly affected and at risk of closing for good.
With this, there will be a domino effect on various economic sectors and the job sector and unemployment is expected to rise further.
With the 12th Malaysia Plan, we can restore parliamentary democracy and give Malaysia a fresh start towards a better future.
Let's make Malaysia a better home for us today and for the next generation.
