COMMENT | Why can't UN maintain world peace and security?

COMMENT | In this turbulent world where people everywhere are suffering from health and economic problems, mainly caused by Covid-19, and about six million people have died as a result of it, what is needed is a collective effort to overcome this challenge.

Not war, because war destroys peace and disrupts the fight against this epidemic.

However, as the current situation in Ukraine clearly shows, war remains a threat to peace, which has to be removed.

Peace and security, which are the main goals of the United Nations (UN) and its predecessor, the League of Nations, must be maintained.
