Post GE15, platform to accommodate communication with your representatives launched

With the general election ending and the results being announced, the focus now will be on the chosen candidates. The public will now be paying attention to how the chosen candidates will carry out their manifesto. 

With that in mind, communication between these candidates and the general public will take place. The means chosen to carry out the communication will directly affect the effectiveness of the communication. Therefore, the choice of medium of communication right now plays a lethal role. 

Jiran360 is a social networking platform developed for local communities and neighbourhoods in the country of Malaysia. Basically, Jiran360 is like any other platform such as Facebook and Instagram. But unlike Facebook, Jiran360 is limited to the people in close proximity to each other, in which the area is divided based on the DUN in each state. The main purpose of this platform is to connect neighbours to their nearby locality. They can  find good neighbours, recommendations on their nearby area, lost and found, businesses and agencies etc. Any interested users can also join this platform if they want to rent or own a home, own a second home, own property on which the users intend to build a home or own a rental property in the area. 

Effective medium of communication 

Since Jiran360 is focused on gathering people from the same DUN, it can be an effective medium of communication for the general public in order to reach out to the elected representatives of their respective DUN. In addition, since Jiran360 specialises in connecting people from the same DUN, it will be easier for them to reach out to nearby neighbourhood members. Not to mention that Jiran360 will also make it easier for the elected representatives to approach a specific group of audience, relay information to the right stakeholders, and initiate collaboration with local businesses. This will also benefit the general public as they get to experience direct communication with their respective elected representatives. 

Other than providing free sign-up, and a politic-free user experience, the features in Jiran360 allow the users to receive community recommendations for different local activities, stay updated on local news, get crime and safety alerts, buy and sell household items, hire various professionals, get to know neighbours better, and more. Thus, accommodating their daily life needs.

In order to further widen the range of the availability of access to Jiran360, the mobile application for both Android and IOS is being developed. As for now the website itself is up and running and available in English – and can be assessed by both desktop and mobile at https://jiran360.my/.
