Prolexus appoints new Executive and Independent Director

Bursa Malaysia Main Market listed company Prolexus Bhd (“Prolexus” or “Group”) has today announced the appointment of Datuk Au Yee Boon as the new Executive Director and Dato’ Low Chin Koon as the Independent Director.

Datuk Au is a business entrepreneur with a strong track record in the IT industry. He was the founder and chief executive officer of Techbase Solution Sdn Bhd, an MSC status company specialising in information technology (IT) solutions. 

Datuk Au has also demonstrated strong leadership qualities as the Executive Director of YB Ventures Berhad. Since his appointment in 2020, YB Ventures Berhad has recorded a strong turnaround in its earnings and charted a new growth trajectory. 

Meanwhile, Dato’ Low is the Independent Director of Mestron Holdings Berhad. 

In a statement, Prolexus welcomes both Datuk Au and Dato’ Low into the Group’s Board of Directors and is confident that their deep experience and leadership qualities will be instrumental in ensuring the Group’s continued leadership within the apparel business segment.

Prolexus is principally involved in the various industries including the manufacturing of apparels, face mask, textile and advertising services. Business of Apparels, Textile and Advertising. With over 40 years of leadership in the industry and 15 million pieces of apparels produced each year, Prolexus has expanded to be a one-stop integrated provider of material to apparels. Prolexus brand partners include international notable branded sportswear.

Prolexus managed to maintain its profitability at RM17.2 million at the back of its revenue of RM227.5 million despite the COVID-19 pandemic during FY2021. While the Group’s apparel division contributed 93.4% of Prolexus’ total revenue in FY2021, the Group is expanding its income stream with the recently launched “Arumn”, a crafted modest wear brand for women. Aside from that, Prolexus owns the “PowerScreen” brand and is the first outdoor digital screen operator in Malaysia. This is under the Group’s advertising division, which is expected to see a strong momentum recovery in the post-COVID era.
