Phenomenal response to Professor Koko in collaboration with Monsta

The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) together with the Malaysian Cocoa Board (MCB) recently launched a video commercial starring their newest icon, Professor Koko who teams up with popular animated character BoBoiBoy to deliver a consumer-friendly message about the health benefits of Malaysian COCOA that viewers of all ages can appreciate.

The MCB commercial advertisement in collaboration with Marketing Agency & Distribution MONSTA (MADMONSTA) has already garnered 1.5 million views since it was uploaded to Monsta’s official YouTube portal three weeks ago. The advertisement was also aired on local television stations.

Elaborating on the connection between BoBoiBoy and COCOA which led to the collaboration with MCB, the Director of MADMONSTA, Faiz Zainal Aabidin said, “COCOA was a crucial element in the earlier episodes of BoBoiBoy where we established COCOA as an important source of energy that is sought by even aliens from outer space such as Adu Du.”

“Through storytelling in its fantasy world, BoBoiBoy has actually succeeded in raising the image of COCOA as one of the country’s main commodities on a global scale by penetrating the markets of more than 70 countries internationally”, he added.

Monsta hopes that this collaboration with MCB will have a positive impact on public perception of the national cocoa industry, especially among children, not just in Malaysia but also throughout the region. Monsta also hopes that this collaboration will indirectly inform viewers from around the world about the high quality and grade of cocoa that is produced in Malaysia, which is comparable to cocoa produced in other countries.
