RM1 million aid for flood victims from Yeo’s and Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation

The initiative is organised under Yeo’s Helping Hands, the company’s CSR programme to help communities in need.

In a joint statement, Mr Samuel Koh, Group Chief Executive Officer of Yeo’s and Mr Daryl Ng, Director of the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation said, “In these difficult times, our hearts go out to all who are affected. Many have lost so much and Yeo’s together with Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation would like to do our part and try to help and care for communities in need. Urgent aid is crucial for these impacted families so that they can get back on their feet and start to rebuild their lives. We are heartened by the many individuals and organisations who have quickly responded to demonstrate love, care, and concern for these families in their hour of need. Let’s us continue to join hands and help make a difference.”

Ongoing cleaning and restoration efforts to help impacted families

This RM 1 million aid will be mobilised through community organisations including Crisis Relief Services & Training (CREST), Methodist Crisis Relief & Development (MCRD) and World Vision who are all already actively on the ground helping these families through their operation centres at different locations. Practical help such as cleaning of homes, providing essential daily needs as well as assessing requirements to restore homes and lives are already ongoing. This aid is a timely resource to complement the organisations’ efforts.

Yeo’s Helping Hands was recently launched as a formal and orchestrated platform for programmes to communities in need. In July this year, food pack aid to 40,000 B40 families most affected by COVID-19 were donated through several community organisations.
