15th Malacca State Election 2021: PN Manifesto unveiled
Perikatan Nasional yesterday unveiled its manifesto for Malacca’s 15th General Election at the Ballroom Glenmarie Hotel and Golf Resort, Shah Alam, based on six pillars which also encompassed 11 strategies and 74 approaches.
The hybrid ceremony was held in compliance with the standard operating procedure as (SOP) set by the National Security Council (MKN) and was posted live on the coalition's Facebook page.
Before announcing the pledge, PN chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, expressed his confidence and assured voters that all the coalition’s contesting candidates were competent and capable, in line with its motto of transforming Malacca into a well-developed tourist state.
“We offer the people of Malacca competent leaders who will gear up with our motto - Malacca Bangkit Gemilang. I am very confident that the combination of PN candidates who are contesting this time will be able to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Malacca who, of course, want to see Malacca rise as a glorious state” he said.
He also stated that PN pledged to bring major changes to Malacca’s administration through its emphasis on the values of integrity and transparency.
“This is to ensure that the interests and well-being of the people are always at heart and become the first and foremost priority of the state administration. PN has formulated an inclusive and comprehensive offer to all the people of the state of Malacca, this is to ensure that no group is marginalized from benefiting from the state's rapid development in various economic sectors” he said.
"This pledge, for me, is a commitment that the state government that will be formed is based on the voice of the people who want to see Malacca rising to glory as a developed state, caring for the people and led by a leadership team with integrity," he said.
To ensure that the pledge announced is fulfilled, PN will set up a special committee to monitor the implementation of the pledge, Muhyiddin added.
He also said the committee would comprise Malaccans who are educated professionals and those with good traits and competency.
"This is a manifestation of PN's determination to ensure that the pledge made for the people in the state of Malacca will be realized through persistent and transparent efforts," he said.
The six main pillars of the pledge include economic integrity, concern for the people, the vibrancy of the tourism sector, environmental sustainability, infrastructure efficiency as well as robustness and honesty of administration.
Revitalising Malacca through these Six Pillars and Eleven Strategies:
1) Economic Integrity (Keutuhan Ekonomi)
Spurring the growth of strategic and high-impact industries.
Providing quality and high-income employment opportunities in all sectors of the economy.
2) Concern for the People (Keprihatinan Kepada Rakyat)
Creating a prosperous society.
Strengthening education to meet the needs of future talents.
Reinforcing the role of youth in state development.
Increasing women's participation in the economic sector and safeguard women's welfare.

6) Robustness and Honesty of Administration (Keteguhan dan Kejujuran Pentadbiran)

Among the efforts to be done by the coalition is creating a TVET education hub, providing maintenance to registered tahfiz schools and one-off assistance of RM200 to tahfiz teachers, Al-Quran and Fardu Ain class (KAFA) teachers as well as kindergarten teachers under the Malacca Islamic Religious Department (JAIM).
Other pledges include postponement of loan repayments under the Tabung Amanah Pendidikan Negeri Melaka, a 50 percent discount on hawker licenses as well as a 50 per cent rental discount for small traders.
Realizing the difficult period faced, PN will also provide a one-off assistance of RM200 for each child born in the state of Malacca in 2021.
At the same time, Muhyiddin said, through the strengths and honesty of the administration, PN will outline an agenda that can strengthen the state civil service through digitization and direct engagement with the people.
State government-owned agencies and companies would be empowered for good governance, integrity and transparency.
“I believe the people of Malacca have been very upset with those media reports on various allegations of misconduct involving the misappropriation of the state of Malacca's wealth by greedy and irresponsible quarters.”
“PRN Malacca is an opportunity for the people of Malacca to rectify this situation. The people in the state of Malacca must take bold steps to make changes,” he said.
