BeSquare by Deriv: applications open for Malaysian graduates

Global fintech services provider, Deriv, has opened applications for BeSquare, its new tech graduate programme for Malaysian fresh graduates majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

BeSquare is a 6-month paid training programme that’s designed to provide fresh graduates with a hands-on learning experience, covering tech-related modules such as mobile development, cybersecurity, business intelligence, quantitative analysis, and more.

Arming graduates with essential knowledge and skills

Deriv intends to equip graduates with knowledge and skills that are relevant to meet the demanding nature of today’s tech industry. To achieve this, BeSquare participants will get to work on real-world projects as they collaborate with the tech teams at Deriv.

Participants will be mentored by the tech professionals at Deriv as they tackle challenging IT tasks. There’ll also be sessions on essential soft skills that will help graduates become effective team members.

Head of HR at Deriv, Shyamala Siva says, “We want to give graduates the opportunity to acquire the skills that will help them succeed as IT professionals.”

Helping graduates kickstart their IT careers

Besides receiving mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, BeSquare participants who perform exceptionally well during the programme will be offered permanent positions at Deriv. If they accept, they’ll have the opportunity to pursue a tech career with an industry leader that’s geared for growth.

A call for applications

Applications are now open for all Malaysian STEM graduates who have a passion for technology and are eager to learn more about the IT industry. Proficiency in spoken and written English is a must.

The first intake for BeSquare starts on 23 August 2021 and the closing date for applications is 9 July 2021.
