Salammusik has released their brand-new single entitled 'Galaksi Rindu'

Kuala Lumpur - Award-winning local band 'Salammusik' has just released their brand-new single entitled 'Galaksi Rindu' along with the music video.

Salammusik found a suitable time to come out with their new song. "Ramadan is the time to remind ourselves of what we have. Sometimes we don't realize what we have until it's gone. The song Galaksi Rindu is about longing, something we all have to deal with in our lives."

The band aims to write music that's both socially conscious and fun to listen to. Their latest album Riwayat is largely an organic, more traditional sounding album, but successfully dips its toes into modern pop territory.

Salammusik explains that it was more challenging than ever to produce a high-quality music video in this era of social distancing.

"While the band is in Malaysia and I'm in the Netherlands, not being able to travel, we managed to shoot with two teams in two countries and combined the footage into one video.

The pandemic has definitely turned our world upside down, but given the time, we believe we always find our ways. Trusting it will all be better one day."

Two months before Salammusik was due to go on their tour in Europe, they were told it had been cancelled because of the COVID-19 outbreak. 'It was almost overnight, the live music industry shut down. Gigs were cancelled, tours and festivals called off and venues forced to close.' It made a big impact on the industry.

'Yes, we miss it very much! We are longing for a live show, with lots of people singing and dancing along to the music. We can't wait to be reunited again!

However, Salammusik believes that the music industry will continue to change, just like it always did. From the way we record, to the switch from physical to digital consumption of music, the musical landscape has continually been in motion. The only thing that doesn't change is the people’s love for music. No matter the circumstances of the world, our favourite songs will always be there to get us through those tough days until better ones come along. That’s the power of music.
