MNRB contributes RM200,000 to MERCY Malaysia’s COVID-19 Pandemic Fund

MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) has contributed RM200,000.00 to MERCY Malaysia’s COVID-19 Pandemic Fund for its Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan. The amount is a charity contribution on behalf of the participants of Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad, a subsidiary of MNRB.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic places unprecedented demand for ventilators on the country’s hospitals and health system, our contribution is to be channelled to purchase one unit of ventilator. We understand the urgency of this medical equipment when a patient is facing life-threatening situations. We hope that our small gesture can provide them lifesaving care during these critical times,” said Mohd Din Merican, President & Group Chief Executive Officer of MNRB.

MNRB’s contribution will also go towards the purchase of essential items and hygiene kits for frontline medical workers and support staff on duty at the COVID-19 operation centers. This includes sanitizers, hand soaps, contactless thermometers and personal hygiene kits.

“We are tremendously grateful to frontline medical workers for their continuous dedication and sacrifices in battling COVID-19. We hope that the contribution of these essential items will benefit them and provide them some relief throughout this critical period,” added Mohd Din.

Ir. Amran Mahzan, MERCY Malaysia’s Executive Director, expressed his gratitude to MNRB for rising to the occasion during this national crisis. “The COVID-19 is an unprecedented disaster, and our healthcare sector is now severely stretched. As a medical relief organisation with 20 years of proven track record in Total Disaster Risk Management (TDRM), we are happy to assist the Crisis Response & Prevention Centre and Ministry of Health in battling COVID-19”.

MNRB Group has also allocated additional funds to assist in the fight against the pandemic. There will be further contributions to be made by its reinsurance and takaful subsidiaries via the respective associations.

“It is important that we all come together during this crucial time and do our part in helping the government curb the COVID-19 outbreak. Take the necessary precautions as advised by the government and strictly follow the Movement Control Order (MCO)”, added Mohd Din.

In support of the MCO, Takaful IKHLAS would like to encourage customers to renew their motor and non-motor certificates via www.takaful-ikhlas.com.my.
