McDonald’s Malaysia shows appreciation to Covid-19 frontliners

McDonald’s Malaysia is sponsoring food to about 50 hospitals nationwide on a regular schedule during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

“This is a trying time for the country, and we have to remember the frontliners who are out there every single day, risking their lives for us. Because of them, Malaysians are one step closer every day to fighting off this pandemic,” said Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald’s Malaysia.

“Giving back to the communities we operate in has always been part of McDonald’s DNA. This is our way of helping in our own small way as we Malaysians go through this difficult time together,” added Azmir.

Food sponsorship to hospitals by McDonald’s Malaysia will reach approximately 15,000 healthcare workers. In addition to hospitals, McDonald’s Malaysia is also making regular food delivery to frontliners such as the police and army personnel all over the country.

#KitaBoleh

McDonald’s Malaysia has started a nationwide call to rally Malaysians together during the MCO period. The #KitaBoleh concept that McDonald’s Malaysia started on their social media platforms is meant to leverage the spirit of all Malaysians to stand united and to keep the fighting spirit even during trying times.

#KitaBoleh is also a nationwide call to herald the silent bravery of the frontliners who are continuing on their work as Malaysians stay home during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

“Malaysians are currently facing a period of uncertainty, and now more than ever, is the time for all of us to come together. At McDonald’s Malaysia, we want to remind Malaysians that through the #KitaBoleh spirit, we can overcome anything and stand strong together,” said Azmir.

Azmir also recognised the restaurant team who have been on the ground since the start of the MCO.

“A big shoutout goes to our McDonald’s crew at all of our restaurants nationwide as well as McDelivery riders who have worked tirelessly to ensure that customers still enjoy their favourite McDonald’s meals,” added Azmir.
